Once again, the North Hill Preservation Association is sponsoring a Bike Pensacola Slow Ride through Historic North Hill! Join the fun at 11:00 Saturday, March 18, in Alabama Square (see the map). This interesting and leisurely ride will be at a casual pace and will take about one hour and ten minutes. Nobody will be “dropped” or left behind, and we will enjoy a ride escort by officers of the Pensacola Police Department to ensure the safety of the riders. There is no charge for the ride, and no registration is required.
When you finish the ride, celebrate your accomplishment at our post-Ride party! We’ll have snacks and water, the Flip Flop BBQ food truck, and live music by Pat Meusel!
If you want to join in the fun, please keep these rules in mind:
–Children ages 10 – 16 must be accompanied by an adult; no kids under 10 on their own bicycle.
–Cyclists under 16 must wear a helmet by law; for ages 16 and up, helmets are recommended but are not required by law.
–No dogs or other pets are allowed–they’re not covered by our insurance.
–This is a Bike ride, so bicycles only please, either self-propelled or electric-assist (no training wheels please!); trikes and elliptigos are also fine, but no Segways, skateboards, scooters, or gasoline-powered motorized bicycles are allowed.
–There can be no alcohol consumption during the Ride.
–Please make certain that both you and your bicycle are healthy and well-maintained so that you can safely ride about six miles. Please do not attempt the Ride if you cannot ride six miles at 6 mph.
Because most cyclists are “self taught,” Bike Pensacola offers information about bicycle laws, provides safety tips, and addresses different bicycling skills that will help keep rides safe and enjoyable.
